Barrett’s Cookies + Biscuits Logo Design

Ellen Barrett, founder and creator of Barrett’s Cookies + Biscuits, fell in love with baking while being taught by her grandmother at an early age. Now, all these years later, she’s making a career of taking the taste of home and bringing it to Raleigh and the surrounding areas.

The client needed a logo and overall branding structure (colors, fonts, etc.) to establish herself as a brand and a stiff competitor in the cookie market. She wanted elements that spoke to her southern roots - and more importantly - the love of baking she inherited from her grandmother.

After a couple of phone calls to learn more about her vision and the direction she wanted to go, it was time to brainstorm and gather inspo. I checked out what her competitors looked like and used the unique elements of her story and personality to stand apart from the competition. The illustrations I created for a brand pattern brought in a rustic and vintage feel that she could use on packaging, business cards, etc.
